SATCOM Mission Planner

EPS Mission Support Services Division is seeking applicants to fill a SATCOM Mission Planner position, located in Panama City Beach, Florida. This position is in support of our Seaport-e Task Order supporting the Technical Engineering Support for Integration and Production of Joint Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) System Information Technology and Communications Equipment Program. This position may require travel CONUS and OCONUS in support of fielding, testing, and operation of deployed JEXC2 systems. Travel will be less than 15% of the assignment.

Experience with the following is required;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a SATCOM Mission Planner.
  • Ability to perform as the program’s primary SATCOM Mission Planner on satellite communications (SATCOM) to include: commercial and mobile satellite services (MSS), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Super High Frequency (SHF), Very High Frequency (VHF), and Extremely High Frequency (EHF) spectrums.
  • Must be able to coordinate with Regional SATCOM Support Center (RSSC) SATCOM managers to process Satellite Access Request (SAR), and Gateway Access Request (GAR) for multiple simultaneous missions.
  • Ability to author SAR/GAR requests and forward them to the Regional SATCOM Support Center Continental United States using the online Joint Integrated Satellite Communications Tool (JIST).
  • Must be very familiar with the online Joint SATCOM Management and Planning System (JSMPS). Completion of training in this system, and operational experience entering and developing SAR/GARs using JSMPS is a must.
  • Operational experience with the following: USC-60A Flyaway Tri-Band Satellite Terminal (FTSAT), IPT Mil Suitcase satellite system (USC-68), Hawkeye III family of terminals, AN/PRC-152 Multiband Handheld Radio , Promina (NX-1000 IP Access Switch preferred), PRC-117 radios, Global Broadcast System (GBS) receivers, and Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers, IP and Enhanced Bandwidth Efficient Modem (EBEM) modems. The ability to assist with troubleshooting and mission support remotely for these systems is required.
  • Applicants selected for this position at a minimum will require an active DoD Secret clearance and background screening. Active TS/SCI Clearance is preferred.

Information System Security Manager (ISSM)

The ISSM will be responsible for providing advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized security applications and operational environment, functional network/system/application analysis, design, integration, documentation, training and implementation advice on complex IT security and networking problems. ISSM will apply high-level cybersecurity/technical principles and methods to difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solution; test and evaluate network systems and applications/databases to eliminate problems and make improvements to the overall security posture.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement cybersecurity solutions for Travis AFB and adhere to AF and DOD standards

  • Manages security budget requirements with resource management staff, and on project requirements through the Plans and Programs section providing input as required. Develops, reviews, and updates information security related policies for the unit.
  • Serves as advisor to the USAF on Information Security related issues and provides guidance on remediation efforts. • Works with other security staff to ensure information security measures are adhered to for all network management, applications, databases, network security, domain name systems, and administration clients and servers for Travis AFB IT Systems
  • Coordinates with USAF security staff to ensure physical security measures are adhered to. • Performs and conducts risk assessments and outlines safeguards in applicable technical areas for all applicable devices.
  • Audits and approves Vulnerability Management (scanning, remediation, and reporting) and Incident Response programs to ensure proper security prevention and response measures are in place to protect against malicious code and remain in compliance with all DoD/IC/AF security guidelines, standards, and directives.
  • Advises operational staff on Business Continuity planning measures to ensure proper sustainment of critical architectural infrastructure at Travis AFB.
  • Experience with both DIACAP C&A and RMF package creation. • Experience transitioning active DIACAP packages for DoD/IC based GOTS and COTS applications, databases, and other infrastructure and information system components to RMF.
